The battery module fuse is designed to provide back-up protection while maintaining a slow melting time. It is important for a battery module fuse to have a slower melting time to ensure coordination with upstream fuses can be achieved. This allows battery module manufactures the ease of mind that the battery is protected during shipping, handling, and transportation and once installed within a system, that the traditional fast-acting upstream fuses will coordinate with the battery.
